The strongly-held beliefs of parents about the disadvantages of giftedness are often not empirically supported and can lead to district policy based on pseudoscience. Discover and develop strategies to combat the propagation of pseudoscience without alienating stakeholders in order to address the actual social/emotional and academic needs of gifted students.
